The Three-dimensional facial reconstructions featured here were performed using the Manchester method. This technique extrapolates soft tissue from bone structure which involves sculpting the individual muscles from clay, which are then modelled directly on to the skull. The Manchester method reduces the probability of subjectivity in the reconstruction by building muscle layers from the inside out, thus using the morphology of the skull as a guide for face shape.
